What is the web page bulletin board? It’s actually quite easy, but something that you will grow to rely on during this marking period. Each of you will be responsible for adding to the bulletin board throughout the next nine weeks. You will do this by finding web sites that are helpful to you in completing each of the projects in this class. The idea behind this is that if you find a site that has helped you to complete a project, you will post your web site on the bulletin board so that it may help someone complete his or her project. A project that you find easy may be giving someone else a harder time, while later perhaps that same person may be having an easier time with something you are having trouble with.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say that we have just completed our in-class discussion on resumes. I have now left it up to you to find information and examples on resumes through the Internet. You do a search on resumes (or perhaps you already know some helpful resume sites), and find the perfect site to help you complete your project. I will post sites on occasion; however, you will do most of the posting as you search on the web for relevant sites. The first site that I would like to visit some time is
The Virtual Interview. This site will give you practice questions that may come up in an interview. Please visit this site sometime before we cover interview techniques. I will remind you as we get closer, or feel free to visit the site sometime soon. You will be required to find five useful web sites for each block. Each one that you find is worth 25 points. When you have found the web site you would like to share, make a document being as creative as you can, and include the name and address of the web site, a description of something that would be useful to someone on this site, and your first and last name. When you are finished, print out the document and staple it to the web page bulletin board. This will be an easy way to pick up some extra points in the class!
