ePALS Classroom Exchange connects 1.8 million students and teachers from 27,165 registered classrooms in 130 countries. We/you will use ePALS to collaborate with other classrooms worldwide.
As a class, we will search for a classroom in the United States, or another country, and we will invite that classroom to correspond with us. You all will have an e-mail account set up through ePALS. This e-mail will be monitored occasionally to make sure everyone is following Internet policy rules. If you would like a copy of these rules (which you sign when you register at the school), please see me.
You will be required to frequently mail a student from the class that we pick. You may choose to write one or many other students from this classroom. I will remind you that you need to mail students on ePALS. However, it will be up to you to plan your time so that you can complete other assignments in addition to this activity.
Occasionally, I will ask you to write in your daily journal about what you have been learning from these students. I will also ask you each week to print out a copy of a letter that you are sending to a student. You will receive points for doing this through your print-outs and journal writings. We will discuss this point system more in detail as the marking period progresses. I think you will enjoy talking with students like you from all over the world.
HAVE FUN!
